This project serves as the site for a university-corporate partnership between Wayne State University and the private company Applied Materials, Inc., forming the first Center of Excellence joint venture on campus. The project adapts an existing Inorganic Chemistry Laboratory into a specialized materials research lab with a confidential on-of-a-kind atomic reactor unit that can only be found at this lab within the state of Michigan.

With two separate entities coming together on this project there were two sets of standards (Higher Education in Michigan and Commercial based in California) that iDesign successfully helped to navigate and build consensus.
“One year in, it couldn’t be better. We were able to generate very high quality data in that timespan that covered a multitude of projects. As a result, I received a promotion to Manager effective Jan 1st. Needless to say, things are moving at a fast pace and progressing very well.”
